Stop Chasing, Start Aligning: A Life Lesson from Bees

I was watching Bees the other day. Buzzing around, collecting nectar, tirelessly moving from one flower to another, their goal? To make honey. But in the process, they do something far greater. They spread pollen, helping plants grow, fruits form, and life flourish. Their tiny wings carry more than just nectar—they carry the continuation of life itself.
I wonder—do bees ever think about the larger purpose they serve? Or do they just follow their nature without questioning it? They don’t pause to reflect on the impact they have on the ecosystem. Yet, their work sustains entire forests, farms, and food chains.
We, as humans, often ask ourselves a deep and pressing question: What is the purpose of my life? We search for meaning, seek validation, and struggle with finding our place in the grand scheme of things. But maybe we are asking the wrong question. What if, instead, we asked: Why has God created me? What role am I meant to play in His grand design?
Bees don’t chase meaning. They don’t spend their time analyzing their existence. They just do what they are meant to do. And in doing so, their actions align perfectly with nature’s flow. Maybe our lives work the same way. Maybe, instead of forcing a purpose or constantly seeking external validation, we should focus on aligning ourselves with our true nature.
Each one of us has unique talents, skills, and inclinations. Some of us create, some heal, some teach, and some lead. But all of us, in our own ways, contribute to something much greater than ourselves. When we work with sincerity, when we act out of love and integrity, we end up playing a role that fits naturally into the fabric of the universe.
Every moment, we are contributing to something greater. The work we do, the kindness we show, the knowledge we share—it all spreads like pollen, touching lives in ways we may never realize. A simple conversation might inspire someone. A small act of generosity might change the course of another’s life. Just like the bees, we leave traces of our presence in the world, even if we don’t always see the impact immediately.
Nowadays, I see people around me struggling to fit themselves in. I used to do the same in my early years—constantly looking for validation from the outside world. We are conditioned to do so. Our education system, our social structures, and even our daily interactions subtly teach us to seek validation at every step. We are taught to measure our worth based on approval, external success, and societal expectations. But is that alignment with our true nature? Or is it just a distraction that pulls us away from what we are really meant to do?
So maybe the key is to stop chasing and start aligning.
Instead of fighting against the current, what if we flowed with it? Instead of seeking grand external achievements, what if we focused on refining our inner selves? When we start living in harmony with our true nature, we naturally find our place in the larger divine plan. We don’t have to struggle to create meaning—it unfolds when we align with what is meant for us.
The divine law operates in mysterious ways. Just as bees unknowingly serve a higher purpose, perhaps we, too, are part of a much bigger picture. One that we might not fully grasp, but one that exists nonetheless.
So let’s take a step back. Let’s reflect. Let’s embrace our unique role in this grand creation. Instead of asking What is my purpose? let’s start by asking How can I best serve the divine plan?
What do you think? Have you ever found purpose in unexpected ways? Let’s discuss this in the comments.
